Earlier this year NHS Forth Valley and Falkirk Council launched a number of services to support people aged 65 and over to remain well at home in the Bo’ness area.

These are:

  • ALFY (Advice Line For You) – A dedicated 24 hour, 7 days a week phone line 01324 567247 operated by experienced nurses who can provide advice, support and a range of other health and care services to help people stay well at home
  • A personal care plan known as Your Plan to help older people, their family / carers to write down all the important things that matter to them in relation to their health and care needs in the one place.

A number of additional information sessions have been organised in the Salvation Army Hall, Corbiehall, Bo’ness for anyone wanting to learn more about the new services and speak directly with health and care professionals. These will take place on:

Wednesday 4 November 2015 –    2:30pm – 4:00pm

Wednesday 11 November 2015 –   2:30pm – 4:00pm

Vicky Chisholm, a community nurse who works on the ALFY service, said: “Many older people in Bo’ness have already contacted the ALFY phone line and found it very helpful so we are keen to raise awareness of the service and encourage more older people to get in touch if they need advice or support to stay well at home.”
Anyone who would like to attend one of the information sessions, is asked to contact Ann Duffy, Programme Administrator on 01324 566720 or ann.duffy@nhs.net
