Do you want to help make sure that the views of local people are represented in local health decisions? Are you seeking a rewarding and challenging opportunity? NHS Forth Valley is looking for a new Non-Executive member to join its Board – and you don’t need to be a health expert or have previous Board experience.
NHS Forth Valley is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 300,000 people living in Forth Valley, and provides a wide range of community and hospital based health services for populations covering a geographic area from Killin and Tyndrum in the North and Strathblane and Bo’ness in the South. The Board recently published a new healthcare strategy which sets out its plans and priorities for the next five years.
Alex Linkston, Chairman of NHS Forth Valley, said: “We are seeking someone who is passionate about health. Some of our members bring experience from their own area of expertise such as a financial or education background. Others have held various roles in the community. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the delivery of health and care services across Forth Valley.
He added: “We are asking people with an interest in health and public service, but who may not have thought of being a Non-Executive board member, to consider applying. This is a challenging but rewarding role and you will be offered the training and support you need to make a strong contribution.”
The post will take up around 8 hours a week and members usually serve for a minimum of four years with a remuneration of £8,169 a year. More information can be found on the national public appointments website: www.appointed-for-scotland.org or by calling 0300 244 1898 (Freephone). Completed applications must be received on or before Friday 18th November 2016.
